Hi all ! Today i bring to u a mix media canvas using sizzix die cuts !!
For me painting often meant Oils or watercolors , brushes , paper / canvas ....
But when i stumbled upon some videos on you tube regarding "Mix Media Canvas "
I was just more than interested ! Believe me it was a feast creating this one !
It took me 2 days to make it.
Mainly coz i used Oil colors for the sky (it takes a while to dry)
Here is what i made (Caution - Picture heavy post !)
Here are some painting supplies i used for this project.
Believe me when working with Oil colors
painting knifes are the best to spread around the color
I first Modge podged my blank canvas , then i stuck a paper as shown
and modge podged it all over again. (i deliberately left the paper puckered)
The fence is a Sizzix Bigz Die - Fence
on chipboard and colored using acrylic colors
and then i used some crackle medium on top

I first colored the lower part of the canvas with "Pearl green" acrylic color.
I used only one coat over the paper as i wanted it to be seen from underneath.
Then i used the crafting knifes to spread the blue color all over the top
Since this was Oil color - it took about 24 hrs to dry completely.
After it was dry i modge podged it.
* never forget to color the edges*
And a splash of yellow with the smaller knife for the lamp to glow !
here is how it looks
The lamp is again acrylic colored its a
The birds are my fav part ! they are colored using pro markers and modge podged onto the canvas.
Some stamping to fill in the gaps !
And the lovely sequin flowers by Lightbox creative store
How do u like it ? do let me know what u think !
